Easter in St. Louis

We went to visit Nana for Easter. Cory's sister Gina and her son Luke came from Florida to celebrate Easter with the family. We had not seen Gina in 3 years. It was a nice visit and a chance to get caught up on what was going on in life. Luke is a preteen and is a sweetheart. He and Katie got along great. Cory took Luke to the Blues hockey game and they watched the Blues win their way to the playoffs. Luke loved it and so did Cory. I think Luke is now a Blues fan just like Uncle Cory. We also got to visit Dan and Sue, taking in every moment to visit them as they are preparing to go to Costa Rica to be missionaries, leaving the US in August. I will miss seeing them on our visits to St. Louis. Emma, Caleb and Issac (Dan and Sue's kiddos) are growing up so fast. It had been rainy so we had an Easter egg hunt in their house. Sue is a really creative hider of the eggs. Katie had fun, Charley mostly ran from room to room giggling and his mommy ended up picking up a few eggs for him. He never got the hang of the hunt, maybe next year. We also got to see Grandpa Bill and Grandma Shirley at Dan and Sue's, it was great seeing their faces light up when they walked through the door and laid eyes on the grand kids. They love being grandparents.
Nana loved having us all stay with her. She made so many nice meals and made it a comfortable and relaxing stay. So relaxing in fact, I think I slept 14 hours one day. We went to the zoo, which is my favorite place to go, it is FREE in St. Louis, just pay to park. Katie and I love love love the penguin house, there is none like it. Take my word for it, it is amazing to see.
On our way home, we got to visit Grandma Gable, Jo Marie, Aunt Carol and Uncle Leon on the farm. It was so nice to see them and hug Grandma. She is 88 years old and was so happy to see us. We also stopped at a Maid Rites, loose meat sandwich shop, our fav in Rolla. If you have never been to one, you do not know what you are missing. It is so yummy and Charley is a big fan now.
